Locating PDF files in Plus & Minus is a breeze because a “hard link” is used, and several of our development partners started storing and retrieving documents as far back as July 16, 2009. Today they have 92,000 documents online. We tried several storage structures that were difficult for staff to understand and use. The solution was in front of us: we realized the Plus & Minus journal group schemas were a natural way to store documents. Since Plus & Minus is a transaction-based system and most users maintain transactions indefinitely, documents can be retrieved with a click.
Documents can be retrieved by date, vendor, customer, employee, fixed asset, amount, account, intro person, and intro date.
